More of the same scenery, just a different day. I find the prairies so depressing. Don’t get me wrong there is beauty in every location. The different patterns found in the golden fields. The cattle grazing roadside. Even the endless lines of telephone poles seem to offer an artistic break in the landscape. One of the most interesting sites was near Chaplin and the 18 miles of sodium sulphate deposits around the lakes.
Notice the rim around the pond. That is salt settlement. Some ponds were totally white with the settlement. If you look up Chaplin Saskatchewan images of this will come up. Those pictures are not of snow. That’s salt!We stopped in Regina at Cabela’s. What would a road trip be with out hitting up this legendary retail store. The Hasson family should own a share in this store.
As a total surprise to this vast flatness, we stay in Cyprus Hills International Park. It was absolutely gorgeous. Parker was skunked here fishing. I think he is starting to get frustrated. The campground reminded us of the film. The Revenant. So very beautiful. A lake in the middle of the praries( right near the border of Alberta) with so many tall pine tress. Stunning.
Day 5 off to Calgary to inspect my tiny home and roll into Banff.
